Walking the walk – walking for health
I have discovered walking for health is the most inspiring type of exercise, not only do you get fitter but it gives you time to think and to clear your head. If you decided to have fitness sessions with me, it might be that we start with a simple walk and then go from there.
I began my “quest” by first completing the Playtex Moonwalk – a marathon at midnight with about 10,000 ladies in decorated bras – for breast cancer. This continued to develop and I have now completed this task 4 times – twice in London and twice in Edinburgh – where no-one mentioned the hills!!
My fitness has progressed (sometimes slowly) and I now complete Triathlons (12 last year) and I am currently training for the Mazda London Triathlon – with the ultimate aim of completing a half Iron Man in 2011 – I’ll keep you posted! |
