Strawberry Sofa's 10 top tips for personal organisation and time management
Here are some good skills you can learn and they're things you can do RIGHT NOW to make a real difference to your life:

  1. write a “to do” list and stick to it – don’t keep changing it!
  2. prepare your clothes for the next day the night before
  3. use a shopping list and write a menu for the week
  4. de-clutter regularly – wardrobes, study, kitchen cupboards etc
  5. learn to relax it’s amazing how much calmer life can be
  6. set aside time blocks* for doing boring tasks and see how much you get done
  7. delegate tasks at work and around the house – you don’t have to do everything
  8. always allow more time than you think you will need
  9. eat breakfast and take a lunch break – you will be more effective
  10. build in some form of exercise as this gives you more energy – a  short walk will do

*  time blocks – set a maximum of 1 hour for boring tasks and then see how you feel – take a break and see if you need to do some more it is amazing how much you get done when you really focus for a set time.

To find out how well you are coping with everyday life try this self assessment life skills test. Think about each question and rate yourself honestly on a scale of 1-10, where 1 means you agree strongly with the statement and 10 means you disagree strongly with it. Write down your scores as you go and total them at the end.
